Congratulations to ESD student Yustynn Panicker, Naunidh Bhalla (ISTD student), Lee Tze How (ISTD student) and Stephen Chua (NUS student) for clinching the grand prize in the student category of the Singapore Airlines App Challenge 2017.  The SIA AppChallenge is a hackathon for participants to build applications that solve real-world problems faced by Singapore Airlines. The team designed an end-to-end solution to bring SUTD’s hiring practices into the modern age. They used computer vision for emotion recognition during self-administered video interviews, natural language processing for resume and speech analysis, to ensure SIA hires the right people, and hires them faster. As their prize, the team will be flying to Silicon Valley to meet with top technology companies.

From L-R: Lee Tze How (ISTD), Naunidh Bhalla (ISTD), Stephen Chua (NUS), Yustynn Panicker (ESD) and Goh Choon Phong (SIA CEO)
